Alpha Natural Resources, Inc., together with its subsidiaries, engages in extracting, processing, and marketing steam and metallurgical coal in Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Wyoming. The company serves electric utilities, steel and coke producers, industrial customers, and energy traders and brokers.
